Os Guinness
Dr. Os Guinness is a social critic and the acclaimed author of more than thirty books. With a D.Phil from Oxford, Dr. Guinness has spent decades exploring the intersection of Christian faith, freedom and the "civil public square." Born in China to medical missionaries and the great-great-great-grandson of the famous Dublin brewer Arthur Guinness, he brings a unique perspective to the American experiment. Since moving to the United States in 1984, he has been a Guest Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Studies, a Guest Scholar and Visiting Fellow at the Brookings Institution, and Senior Fellow at the Trinity Forum and the EastWest Institute in New York. Dr. Guinness was the lead drafter of the Williamsburg Charter in 1988, a celebration of the bicentennial of the US Constitution, and later of “The Global Charter of Conscience,” which was published at the European Union Parliament in 2012. His latest book is America Agonistes: America 250th and the Restoration of a Nation in Conflict with Itself and Its Past.
